 Honoring the Great Intelligence Within
'Supporting the Profound Good'

[Essay]

By Adam Abraham

Though I grew up in a Baptist home, since adulthood, I have maintained a comfortable position of non-alignment with any particular religious faith. Yet, I am not an agnostic. The more I have learned about the universe and its grand order—of the macrocosmic, microcosmic, picocosmic and nanocosmic kind—the more I am in absolute awe. My love, respect, and devotion are to the whole that I’ve been blessed to see. This includes both you and “me”.

I am awed by the profound intelligence of the universe that we have been able to thus far understand, and am giddy with excitement about the mysteries that are yet to be understood. I consider said intelligence to be divine. Its existence is evident in every reality that we have thus far become aware of in any depth. As such, I refer to it as Universal Intelligence. I revere and respect It, for though I do not completely understand “how” It works, I have learned and observed that It responds—intelligently, lovingly, creatively, ingeniously—to stimuli, and can dynamically change its design. Realizing that we can also do this is joyfully humbling.

'Sins of Omission' in Today's Food
Health & Nutrition

by Anna Marie

A BOLD Fresh Thought: The root source of discord within the human soul is the lack of electromagnetic energy that is naturally found in plant food in our diets.

We've been blaming a concept called inherent sin for our 'sinful' natures. I've been guilty of blaming faulty and cruel childrearing attitudes to explain our lack of love, faith, peace or patience as a human race. I'm beginning to see that our downfall in terms of human happiness began when we left "the garden"; that is when we began ingesting non-plant foods for sustenance.

 Changing Minds: 'The Prosperity Game'
[Ed. NOTE: Try this wonderful and uplifting exercise.]

by Adrienne Cinelli

Just *think* about it... EACH DAY receiving a 'check' for an amount of money that many will toil for a year or more. This is the prosperity game, and it begins with how we think about abundance. Your goal is to go ahead and spend it all, because you'll be getting even more money tomorrow.

The first day you'll receive $50,000. The next day you will receive $60,000 and so on, adding $10,000 to the base amount each day. In a short two weeks' time, you will have received... and spent $1,610,000! Are you ready to allow yourself to think at such levels?

Ask the Universe to give you ideas on what you would like to buy, or *create*.

To add more realism to the game, consider plugging your purchases into an Excel spreadsheet. See if you can find stuff on the web and get prices and save pictures in a file. It can help you get more involved in the process of spending because if you're going out to spend $50,000, you'll want to get a feel for the item.

FRESH OPINION: Can Radical Positivism be the Answer...
...to Radical Fundamentalism?

A ‘Long Shot’, Yet Possible Scenario

by Adam Abraham

SAN DIEGO, CA (Dec. 8, 2002) -- The first September 11th observation is now behind us, and mid-term elections. But the issues that brought the horrific tragedies about remain fresh on everyone’s mind. Right after the first 9/11 aniversary I wrote an essay and titled it “Dear Mr. Bush, War with Iraq Won’t Quench Bloodlust, or Avenge September 11th” (www.phaelos.com/020911.html). It was critical of the Bush Administration’s vigilante approach toward relations with Iraq.

I’m no fan of Saddam Hussein mind you. I want justice just as much as the next guy. But I also want truth, and have no desire to harm many innocent people to get at one we believe is guilty. Nonetheless, the essay stimulated a number of email exchanges.

The following correspondence describes what could be a radically positive response to radicalism. You might even call it "fresh". It's worth a conversation.

 The 'Fresh' Life
On Balancing Choice and Change

By Adam Abraham

One of the ongoing challenges of life involves becoming aware of, understanding, and then mastering the relationship between choice and change. Mastery comes as our understanding -- exercised through daily practice -- becomes knowing.

Trying to “control” the changes in our lives could be likened to attempting to control an irritable tiger by grabbing hold of its tail. While doing so involves making a choice, it is not a wise one.

Indigo Yoga: An Ancient and Fresh Approach to Teaching Children
by Adam Abraham

SAN DIEGO, CA (Dec. 8, 2002) Adults are the children of the past, keepers of the Present, into which the seeds of the future are planted. Children will carry the torch of our examples, as they replace us as adults. In this intersection of time and space -- commonly called "Now" -- a child's vision of his or her future is formed.

The extent to which we instill a clear, present, and hopeful vision of possibilities -- into EVERY child -- will largely influence just how "bright" the future will be; the ones that we create as today's adults, and that they create beyond that.

Through her Encinitas, CA based Indigo Yoga practice, Pamela Hollander works with children, helping them to see their role as *creators* of their experience in the Present, that they will consciously choose to live and *create* joyfully therein.

Fresh Thought Vol. 1 No. 5 is published by Adam Abraham and Phaelos Books, and is based on the belief that (1) each human being is the creator of his life experience, (2) life transformation is possible for all, (3) abundant living is the result of abundant thinking and feeling, and (4) there's enough abundance to go around through self-creation without "taking away" someone else's.

Fresh Though is about transformation: the birthright, power, and responsibility of each individual, irrespective of racial, ethnic, gender, religious, economic, national, or political orientation.

If you like where this is going, then please do two things: (1) give us your feedback, (2) forward a copy of this e-zine to others, and (3) encourage them to join.
